Weigh in...

So weigh in was last night...

I had worked my backside off all week and really wanted results knowing that I have a busy few weeks ahead of me...

I am pleased to announce a 6.5lb loss!

I am now only 1.5lb above target and happily floating in my bubble :-)

Minimal syns for this week so that I can enjoy two Christmas do's this weekend (eek!)

Pre-weigh post...

So yesterday was a very busy and eventful day.

Breakfast was 70g porridge (2x HeB) with 250ml semi skimmed milk (HeA) topped with apple and pear. After brekkie I headed straight off to a bridal studio to have some pics taken in some of their gorgeous gowns :-)

Quick trip home for lunch and I had pan 'fried' sausage, pepper and tomatoes topped with 40g reduced fat cheddar (HeA2 & 2 syns) Shot straight off to meet some fellow SW target members from nearby towns for coffee, was a great experience and was brilliant to meet others who have succeeded in getting their ultimate weight loss goal :-)

Straight from there a trip to see my sister was in order (more black coffee!) And my nephew sweet talked me into a lift 20 minutes in the opposite direction of my house... good job I love him! Was shattered after all this so opted for a grilled chicken kebab with lemon juice and lots of salad (7.5 syns for pitta)

Finished my day painting my nails and sipping a hot choccie (1.5 syns)

So 12 syns in total and overall I'm feeling confident for a loss on the sea this evening... time will tell :-)

Next morning posting...

Sorry for posting late again, but I was shattered last night! I was due to go out for cocktails and dancing but I decided to stay in to protect my weight loss... Instead I played with my new TV, listened to Christmas songs and put more decs on the tree :-)

Breakfast yesterday was a bit SW grill up with 2 syns for Heck's Chicken Italia Sausages (0.5 syns each, and God their good!) and 2 syns for butter in my scrambled eggs (I actually measured it, so not worth 2 syns so I'll leave it out in future!)

Lunch was ryvita, light philadephia, ham and grapes.

Dinner was chicken topped with tomato puree & cheese served with butternut squash mash, cauliflower and broccoli. BUTTERNUT SQUASH IS THE WAY FORWARD! It is a superfree food and a great alternative for potato.

Snacked on 5 syns of flying saucers in bed with a cup of salted caramel hot chocolate (1.5 syn and to die for by the way!)

So finished my day on 11.5 syns and loved every mouthful :-)

Not missing out...

Breakfast today was all bran with banana and semi skimmed milk followed by my 1 syn advent calendar choccie.

Snacked on some grapes mid morning.

Lunch was a quorn bolognaise with a pear and 2 satsumas.

Snacked on some ham when I got home from work.

Dinner was steak with mushrooms, asparagus and butternut squash chips.

After a difficult week; tonight I have drank and entire bottle of wine... but it's ok, it was a new discovery... Non Alcoholic Cabernet Sauvingion from Tesco! It was delicious and only 7.5 syns for the bottle! Enjoyed my favourite Red with less syns and with no hangover tomorrow! Impressed is an understatement!

Just finished my day off with 2 light Benefit Bars (HeB2)

So a whole bottle of wine and some really tasty food for only 8.5 syns, happy me!

Thursday, 4 December 2014

Late post

Sorry for posting late, I had a really busy evening yesterday.

Breakfast was 35g Blueberry wheats followed by a big pot of melon and mango plus my advent calendar choccie (1 syn)

Snacked on a small banana mid morning then a patient kindly passed on a box of my favourite choccies  (White Ferrero Rocher) so to stop me eating them all I passed them round the office, managing to only have 2 for myself (6 syns) Proud moment right there!

Lunch was a cheese and ham salad followed by an apple and 2 satsumas.

Snacked on some ham when I got home, before running out of the door again. Then head off to see my dad so I could do a family members nails and for dad and hubby to order my big Xmas pressie... PRIVATE PLATES FOR MY CAR!! Eek!

We left dad's quite late so opted for a meal at the harvester. I had a chicken, salsa and pepper stack with a side salad, muchrooms and some veg (counting 3 syns for any oil they may have used) I did have a small wholemeal roll (HeB2) with 2 syns of butter.

So finished my day on 12 syns but still 100% on plan :-)

Planning ahead

So planning ahead is proving to be key for me...

Breakfast today was porridge (made with water) topped with defrosted berries and sweetener followed by a 1 syn advent calendar choccie.

Snacked on a small banana mid morning.

Lunch was butternut squash soup followed by another small banana and an apple.

Cadbury's Roses went round the office mid afternoon, I had a hazelnut swirl (2 syns) and a Hazelnut in Caramel (3.5 syns) washed down with a skinny latte (HeA)

Came home from work and snacked on 2 light Benefit Bars (HeB2) whilst making an egg, ham and cheese salad plus chopped mango and melon for my cinema trip (not sure the other film watchers appreciated my egg stench but who cares?! Haha)

So 6.5 syns and another successful original day. Lunch for tomorrow all prepped and in the fridge... actually looking forward to those scales on Monday!

Facing the scales...

So after eating off plan for 4 days whilst in Newcastle I decided to take a buffer week... dumb move! This past week has proven to me that I need group when I know I'm going to have a gain... I know that if I have been really good then I can afford to not go, if I have been off plan I need to face the scales sooner rather than later! My buffer week turned into a 'one bad meal won't hurt' week! I ate one meal off plan at least 4 out of 7 days and whatever gain I had in newcastle didn't reduce, resulting in a 9lb gain on the scales last night. Don't get me wrong, I haven't been massively off plan the past week but knowing I was gaining should have been a kick up the bum!

Just proof that even people who have lost a lot of weight, and even target members, have their struggles. I do seem to gain weight very quickly though, but I am on a mission to get it off quickly too!

Before group last night I did my meal plan for the next week and today I have been 100% on plan :-)

Breakfast was a cheese and ham toastie with grapes and a pear followed by a 1 syn advent calendar chocolate. Also got some earrings from hubby in my non-chocolate based calendar!

Lunch was roasted butternut squash soup with ryvita, a fat free yogurt and 2 satsumas.

Snacked on fruit mid afternoon.

Dinner was a 3 syn sweet chilli salmon stir fry followed by a milky coffee.

So 4 syns today and followed original plan. Onwards and upwards from here :-)

Busy times...

So I have been awol for a little while because of my home life being hectic. I have been on plan and loving being in control of my eating habits. Lost 4lbs this week and won slimmer of the week!

I have lost a total of 7.5lbs so far this month and feel great... I'm currently 1lb under my target weight :-)

I am off to Newcastle for hubby's birthday this weekend and I know there will be meals off plan (I mean, what southerner goes up north and doesn't have fish'n'chips!? Haha) but I will be in control for the entire week leading up to it and will take syn free options for lunches. I refuse to let the weekend throw me off. I'm under no illusion that I won't gain, but hopefully it will be minimal. I have a long drive home on Monday (around 5.5hrs) so might not make it to group, but I will be on plan as much as I can regardless.

I'll keep you updated!!!

Blogging problems

So I have been having all sorts of blogging problems. My app isn't working properly, I am officially undergoing IVF treatment and I have been overly tired.

Due to the IVF fatigue and bloating I am currently 6.5lbs above target. I am hoping that with a little break in treatment I can get that back in the next few weeks.

Looking forward to feeling like the in - control me again :-)

Thursday, 9 October 2014

Posh food...

Breakfast yesterday was ryvita (HeB1) topped smoked salmon mixed with quark then a side of banana and grapes.

Lunch was winter vegetable soup with 2x wholemeal bread (HeB2) an apple and a yogurt.

Snacked on some fish sticks and a plum when I got home from work.

Dinner was Thursday night meal with the bestie... We had Aldi Venison Steaks (0.5 syn) with roasted vegetables (Sorry forgot the picture, spelt too good to not tuck in straight away!) Pud was 2 meringue nests (5 syns) with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and mullerlight yogurt.

Aldi Cheese Curls before bed ended my day on 8.5 syns.

So still going strong, even with my hungry day! The weekend will be my test as hubby is off and I have no plans, but I won't let anything beat me :-)

Tuesday, 7 October 2014

Back with a vengeance!

So I am back from my holibobs... and I have done something I have never done before... I took a buffer week from group! Not something I'm proud of but I have come home feeling like a blimp and I really couldn't face those scales...

But I am back at work now and back on it 100% this week. I am going to do a daily blog plus post all meals on Instagram (@kitkatnotsochunky) to keep me on track!

Breakfast yesterday was cherry overnight oats (HeB)

Snacked on a banana mid morning followed by a skinny hazelnut latte (HeA1 + 0.5 syn)

Tried something different for lunch... pear, fig and feta salad (HeA2)... It was delicious! Also had 2 plums.

Pinched an office bon bon during the afternoon (1.5 syn... so NOT worth it!)

Came home from the late shift at work and made a bug juicy steak with veg and syn free garlic bread (DS Ciabatta, HeB2, topped with herbs and garlic frylight then browned in the oven) YUMMY!

Finished the day snuggled up with hubby and a film... Whilst he chomped on chocolate, crisps and sweets I had a bag of Aldi Cheese Curls (3 syns)

So 5 syns used in total yesterday and food for today is all prepped (barring dinner)... I'll post again tonight or in the morning! Until then...

Pre holiday weigh

So tonight was my last weigh in before my holiday. This week has been a difficult one... I've had a flare up of pain in my dodgy hip and I was on bed rest (or sofa rest since hubby's snoring was doing my nut!) and really wasn't up to cooking.

So even though my meals were low syn, I did have a couple of takeaways and the meals I did make were convenient and quick. Tonight's weigh in reflected that with a maintain on the scales. I'm happy with that!

So no, I didn't get right to the bottom of my bubble in time for holiday, but I got darn close with only 1lb to go :-)

My aim is to be very low syn right upto my flight on Saturday and then I will choose mainly good choices when I'm away.

I'll update when I'm back! :-)

Incredible achievements...

So Sunday was the Woman of the Year District Finals. It was an absolutely incredible day and I felt so inspired just being in the same room as such wonderful women. I am very pleased to say that I made it into the final 6 but the title was given to an absolutely amazing woman, Lorraine. Two years ago when I walked into my first weigh in I would never have imagined losing 7.5st, getting to target or even being considered for such an amazing competition... so to get into the final 6 of over 40,000 members was an absolutely incredible achievement and really does make me proud of how far I have come.

So weigh in yesterday also had me smiling like a Cheshire Cat... I lost 2lbs! That puts me at 10st 12lbs (the lowest I have been since before secondary school!) And 2lbs below my target weight. I am aiming for another lb off next week so that I have my entire bubble to play with before my holiday... but I am going hell for leather this week so anything above that will be a bonus! I am still umming and awwing about changing my target weight so I will see what the next few weeks hold on the scales and make a decision from there.

But overall, I feel good!

I have attached some pictures from Sunday for you to have a mooch...

Tuesday, 9 September 2014

Exciting times!

So last night was weigh in, and I was determined to get a small loss on the scales... imagine my delight when I lost 2.5lbs!!! I am now bang on my target again and have loved the foods I have eaten this week. Proof that you can eat foods you enjoy and still lose weight...

I have eaten meringue, crisps, mint chocolate ice cream (after dinner mint mullerlight, frozen) chocolate tiffin... and all within my syn limits :-)

So this week I have some exciting things happening, tomorrow is a food day at work, it is my first wedding anniversary (celebrating on Thursday) and the woman of the year district finals on Sunday. Lots of things which could trip me up, but I refuse to let it!

Making a chickpea dhal loaf for the food day, and I know there will be salad (me sorted!) Thursday I will enjoy my meal out with hubby but I will save my syns up, and not sure if there will be food involved on Sunday but if there is it will be SW friendly (but I'll probably be too nervous/excited to eat anyway!!)

So my aim now is to lose 3lbs over the next two weeks to get me to the bottom of my target bubble in time for my holiday and my expected gain. Hopefully 1.5lbs per week will get me there... so let's get slimming!!

P.S... A lovely lady from my group mentioned taking undie-selfies recently to keep a track of your progress off the scales... attached is a copy of mine!

Casually blogging...

So this week I think I will post most nights, it keeps me motivated when I want a loss and I think this week I could do with the help.

Breakfast today was wholemeal toast topped with beans, mushrooms, scrambled eggs and 1 syn of ketchup.
Snacked on a plum mid morning.

Lunch was syn free chickpea dhal loaf with a big side salad.

Got home from work and snacked on a little more chickpea dhal loaf and a 10g bag of popcorn (2.5 syns)

Sipping on a hot chocolate (1 syn) as we speak.

Dinner is now cooking and I'm having chicken breast (with 0.5 syn of southern fried seasoning) broccoli and sweet potato, parsnip & carrot chips.

So 5 syns in total today and I'm feeling positive. I seem to be doing well at maintaining at the moment, which isn't a bad thing, but I want a holiday buffer... so let's work for it!!

Doing what target members do...

So it was weigh in last night. I was aiming for a loss but was pleased to maintain.

I've had an enjoyable week with a meal out and a night filled with dancing and alcohol so a maintain is exactly what I expected, and I have to say it feels so good being in my target bubble and not paying when I step on those scales every week :-)

But now some serious work needs to start, I have to lose a few pounds before my holiday. I have 3 more weigh ins and I really want to lose 5.5lbs. You may see a few more posts from me this week to keep me going... let's do this!!!

Monday, 25 August 2014

Weigh in...

So after a couple weeks of really enjoying being a target member I ended up 0.5 above target last week.

This week it was a last minute decision to weigh tonight (I was going to weigh after work tomorrow due to the bank holiday) so I ate a big brekkie and even a substantial lunch... so I was over the moon with a 1lb loss bringing me back into my target bubble :-)

It has also been confirmed that I meet criteria for the Woman of the Year District Finals on 14th September and I am sooo excited!

I also have a holiday booked (all inclusive) for 27th September, so I am planning on being at the bottom of my target bubble before this so that I have gaining room... 5.5lbs in 4.5 weeks... why not?!

Thursday, 14 August 2014

An eventful couple of weeks...

So the past couple of weeks have been eventful! Firstly I reached my target and then this week I was voted Liden Slimming World's Woman of the Year 2014.

Absolutely over the moon! I was voted Eldene's last year but this year I meet criteria for the district finals!!

It has caused a right palaver though I have to admit, the districts is being held on 14th September (my wedding anniversary) and if I am successful then the Semi finals falls the week I am booked to go to Egypt! But I have supportive family, and hubby has been amazing... All plans have been cancelled so that I can attend them both if I'm successful.

On a weight loss point of view, this week was a 2.5lb gain... I'm absolutely fine with that since I had 3 kids to look after last week and I had a couple of celebratory meals with hubby. Back on it now, hoping for a maintain or loss this week...

Now to keep my fingers crossed!!!

Tuesday, 5 August 2014

Sorry I've been quiet...

Sorry I've been quiet for a few days... I have been looking after 3 very hyper boys and I haven't really had much time for anything!

So Monday... weigh day... I had overnight oats for brekkie with my usual 2 cups of coffee. Took my nephews and godson to the cinema and resisted naughty treats and just had another coffee. Was hungry midday but do to REALLY wanting a loss on the scales I settled for a pink'n'white. Got to group and stepped on the scales... I have never felt so nervous in all my life... nausea set in, I was shaking... and I lost 3.5lbs!!!

Due to this loss, not only did I get my 7.5st award... but I hit my target with 0.5lbs to spare!! Imagine my joy... then I also winning Slimmer of the Week!!!!! My proudest weigh in ever!

So now I am officially a target member, and I feel great!

Due to this my posts will probably become less frequent. I will still do a weekly weigh in post, and will post if I am having a difficult time, but right now I want to enjoy being where I have been fighting to be for nearly two years!

I have no idea how many people read my blog, or if anyone does in fact, but would like to say a massive thank you to anyone who does as since February 2013 it has kept me on track! I just hope that other people in the same situation I was in read this and tell them selves "d'you know what, I can do that!" I did it 23 months ago, and now I feel great!

I have attached my final before and after photo for comparison :-)

Sunday, 3 August 2014

Day before weigh...

Breakfast this morning was watermelon, grapefruit and a fat free yogurt.

Lunch was 2 slices of wholemeal toast topped with homemade humus and ham; ate the rest of the humus with carrot and pepper sticks, all finished off with a pear.

Snacked on 2 pickled eggs mid afternoon.

Dinner was homemade fishcakes with asparagus, babycorn, courgette and 3 syns of sweet chilli sauce.

Now sat down to a large glass of vodka spritz (well technically 2 glasses in one!) at 8 syns :-)

Finishing my day on 11 syns and really do have everything crossed for a loss tomorrow! Really hoping spending the day with 3 under 10's isn't going to have me stuffing my face!

Saturday, 2 August 2014

Busy day

So today has been a very busy day!

Woke up at 7.20, had 2 cups of black coffee and cous cous pancakes with banana for brekkie. By 9.30 I was in town to go to the bank and do a spot of shopping... was over the moon to buy a size 8 top and XS pac-a-mac in primark!

Lunchtime my sister and 3 kids started our journey to London... 2 motorway accidents meant it was a 3.5 hour drive... luckily I packed lunch! 3 syns of melba toasts with homemade humus, a hifi bar (heb) a double lolly (2 syns) and some fruit.

Lots of body magic this afternoon playing 2 hours of crazy golf... everyone had ice-cream except me... nope, i had a skinny latte from costa (hea)!! I have done something to my knee whilst fannying around though, and hope it settles down overnight so I can squeeze a gym session in tomorrow.

As we didn't finish playing crazy golf until 7pm dinner was Chinese takeaway. I chose beef with mushrooms and boiled rice (5 syns)

Just got home and snacked on a pickled egg and a nectarine.

So even though today was full of temptation I didn't cave, finishing my day on 10 syns. That target better be mine next week!!!

Friday, 1 August 2014

Going strong

Breakfast this morning was porridge made with water, mixed in yogurt and blueberries followed by some watermelon.

Snacked on an apple mid morning.

Lunch was a tomato & herb mugshot, carrot and pepper crudités with low low (hea) as a dip and a nectarine.

Snacked on some seafood sticks after work.

Dinner was chilli, garlic & ginger beef with stir fried veg.

Just had a 4.5 syn bag of twiglets.

So very happy with my day, and I have  even made some homemade humus and chutney for tomorrow :-)

Thursday, 31 July 2014

Double blogging...

Sorry for not posting last night, hubby was home and cuddles made me forget!

Breakfast yesterday was a black pudding (4 syns) spinach and mushroom omelette.

Snacked on a mullerlight mid morning.

Lunch was a wholemeal ham sandwich with an apple, orange and a 0.5 syn jelly.

Dinner was a meal out at Toby Carvery. Syn free veg and meat plus some roasties, butternut squash, gravy and mint sauce equalling 7 syns.

Snacked on some mango grapes later in the evening... yummy!!

Breakfast today was smoked salmon and poached eggs on wholemeal toast followed by watermelon slices.

Snacked on some strawberry grapes mid morning.

Lunch was a big salad with chilli cottage cheese and 8 olives (1 syn) followed by a fat free yogurt and a banana.

Got home from work and ate 6 seafood sticks.

Now I'm off to the besties for homemade SW burgers filled with light babybel topped with balsamic caramelised onions... served with either veg or salad (not sure yet)

Really happy with the past few days. Really hoping to be close to target on Monday!!!

Tuesday, 29 July 2014

Late night cooking...

Breakfast yesterday was porridge (made with water) sweetener and chopped banana.

Snacked on some cherries at around 11.30.

Lunch was roast pork, carrots, mixed veg and boiled potatoes from the work canteen.

Was on a late shift at work and didn't  get home until nearly 7pm... then my step brother came over to play electrician with some dodgy lights... didn't get to start cooking until gone 9.20! However, even though hubby insisted on takeaway I was very proud to have resisted! Instead we had 'brinner' (breakfast for dinner) in the way of a SW Grill Up. 1 syn for weight watchers sausages, 4 syns for black pudding and the rest was syn free :-) happy days!

Weigh in...

Breakfast yesterday was scrambled eggs with onions and cherry tomatoes with 2 cups of coffee.

No lunch (weigh day, you know me!)

Got to weigh in and I was very pleased with a 1lb loss... and a nomination for Woman of the Year 2014! Really didn't think I would be nominated this year as I'm at a reletavely new group (I swapped a couple of months ago) and haven't  got to know everyone yet so I am over the moon! Next week I have to take some before pictures and an old item of clothing with me to show how far I have come... barf alert! Hate seeing those old trousers now haha!

So I am now only 3lb from  target and I am going to do my best to get that in the bag next week... let's see if I can do this!!

Sunday, 27 July 2014

Being quiet...

Sorry for being so quiet over the past few days. I just got a new phone and have only just figured out how to add my account to my phone (I have several Google accounts!)

So the past few days have been full of food which is 100% on plan... However, last night was a night out with friends. I drank lots of alcohol, but managed to stay pretty low syn. I did have 1 cocktail, 1 jagerbomb but the rest of the night was low sync spirits with a diet mixer.

Breakfast on a hangover this morning. I have Toby Carvery breakfast. I had toast (3 syns for butter) lots of bacon (fat removed) beans, 1 fried egg (0.5 syns) tomatoes, 1 sausage (approx 3 syns) and some bubble & squeak (2 syns for oil) so roughly 8.5 syns but it was delicious!!

Skipped lunch as I was stuffed from brekkie, but had an early dinner of a grilled chicken kebab with lots of salad. Syn free as the kebab shop doesn't  use oil :-)

If I get peckish later I will have some superfree, so hopefully a loss will still come my way after my night out, but I saved plenty of syns so I'm feeling confident!

Thursday, 24 July 2014

Fluids!

So the past few days I have been on a real mission to up my fluid intake. I have been averaging 7-8 drinks per day... I feel like I'm fit to burst but I know it will be worth it come weigh day.

Breakfast today was a spinach, onion and ham omelette with 40g light cheddar (hea) followed by a banana.

Snacked on 2 fruit crunch ryvita (heb1) mid morning.

Lunch was a superfree salad topped with cottage cheese followed by 2 scan bran mixed with yogurt (half heb2 & 0.5 syn) and a nectarine.

Snacked on some fruit mid afternoon.

Dinner was salmon with roasted vegetables followed by 4 syn of popcorn.

As dinner was quite early and I hadn't had all of my heb2 I just had 3 scan bran topped with sweetened quark and apple slices.

So finishing the day on 4.5 syns and feel like I'm going to pop! Aiming for minimal syns tomorrow to bank some up for the weekend.

Wednesday, 23 July 2014

Cake!

Breakfast yesterday was porridge (heb1) made with water, then mixed in a rhubarb yogurt (0.5 syns) and then had some strawberries and a nectarine.

Mid morning snack was a slice of scan bran carrot cake (3 syns) it was yummy! Definitely helped my sweet tooth and stopped me eating the sweets in the office!

Lunch was a ham and goats cheese babybel salad (hea) with lots of superfree.
Came home from work to another slice of cake (3 syns)... Love how I can actually have my cake and eat it!!! Also had yoyo bears (dried fruit, heb2)

Dinner was a late one and meal out with my dad, stepmum and hubby... Of course they chose Toby Carvery. I had lots of superfree veggies (made especially with no butter) meat and 1syn of gravy.

Tuesday, 22 July 2014

Challenge...

So this week I am attempting an original week... As well as the Scan Bran challenge (eat Scan Bran every day for 5 days... This will be tough as it's not the tastiest of things on it's own!)

Breakfast today was 60g of greater white toast (heb1) topped with poached eggs, mushrooms and 0.5 syn of ketchup.

Lunch was my 5 scan bran (heb2) topped with low low spread (hea) and cucumber followed by a pot of cherries and a Greek style yogurt (0.5 syn)

Snacked on a nectarine late afternoon.

Dinner was steak topped with garlic and chilli prawns with asparagus, babycorn and baby courgette followed by a rhubarb yogurt (0.5 syns)

So very impressed with today's choices. Only 1.5 syn used and I have lunch and my scan bran choice prepared for tomorrow. Being prepared is key!

Weigh day

Yesterday was weigh day...

Breakfast was 2 slices of toast topped with peanut butter (9 syns) served with fresh cherries and a Greek style fat free yogurt (0.5 syns)

No lunch (you know me!)

2 mints and a boiled sweet throughout the afternoon (2 syns)

Got to weigh in and was very pleased with a 1lb loss :-) just 4lbs from target now! I'll be saving alot of my syns this week for a night out on Saturday so that I can hopefully still get a loss next week!

Sunday, 20 July 2014

I need a boring life to get to target...

So Christening yesterday. Not a bad day but again cut it fine for syns. Followed original day...

Breakfast was strawberries, cherries and blueberries topped with a mullerlight fruitopolis yogurt (0.5 syns)

Lunch was a salmon salad.

Dinner was a quick grab and scoff before heading off to a 5.15pm christening... I had a packet of Melba toasts (3 syns) topped with 60g low low (hea1) strawberries, blueberries and 2 packs of yo yo's (dried fruit, heb1)

Buffet at the after-do tempted me, I had 2 triangles of wholemeal cheese and pickle sandwich (hea2, heb2 & ?2 syns for pickle) a marshmallow (1.5 syns) and a chicken drumstick, skin removed.

Finally, 4.5 syns for a white wine spritzer... 11.5 syns (as an estimate) used for the day.

I REALLY want a loss on those scales this week, but I genuinely don't know what to expect... Maybe the way to target is sheltering myself at home and only eating foods I prepare? Haha!

Syyyyyns!

So stayed under syns yesterday but cut it very fine! It was a really busy day so I am still pretty pleased with myself.

4:30am wake up call ready for the 5am opening of the Next Sale...

Breakfast was porridge (heb) with 200ml of semi skimmed milk (5 syns) followed by a banana.

Trip to Cardiff at 8am for bridesmaid and wedding dress shopping with one of my best friends. Snacked on a fruit pot between appointments (at around 11am) then lunch was a jacket potato topped with beans and cheese (hea) at around 2pm.

Got home from Cardiff and I was too tired to be bothered to cook, so I ordered Chinese... 5 syns for Four Seasons (meat, chilli & veg in oyster sauce) 4.5 syns for prawn crackers and syn free boiled rice.

So finished by day on 14.5 syns, and feeling good about it! Have a Christening to go to this afternoon, but I am planning on staying low syn there too!

Friday, 18 July 2014

Yumminess!

So I had some really tasty food yesterday...

Breakfast was 2 slices of wholemeal toast topped with frylight eggs, bacon and mushrooms (0.5 syn for ketchup)

Lunch was a big superfree salad with cottage cheese.

My boss bought ice lollies for everyone in the office, I had a cherry flavour one from a sainsburys multipack. It was 2 syns and absolutely delicious! Definitely sorted out my sweet tooth!

Dinner was pizza topped chicken served with hassleback potatoes, spinach, babycorn, baby courgettes and asparagus (1 syn for extra light mayo)

Finished my day with a bag of flying saucers at 3.5 syns... Putting me on 7 syns for the day. Pretty impressive I'd say :-)

Low syn days

So this week I have been having low ayn days. I have a very busy weekend ahead of me and I don't want anything tripping me up.

Breakfast yesterday was overnight oats (heb) in raspberry yogurt topped with nectarine slices.

Had a skinny latte with a sugar free syrup shot in the morning (0.5 syns & hea)

Lunch was a big ham salad and a fat free yogurt.

Snacked on some grapes mid afternoon.

Dinner was Thursday night meal at the Besties... We has a quorn spag bol with lots of superfree chucked in. After dinner we sat down to some TV and 20g candy floss (4 syns)

So overall, another good day. So far I have used 6.5/105 syns for the week. Should keep me on plan over the weekend :-)

Wednesday, 16 July 2014

Double blogging...

Sorry for a double blog, I was on a late shift at work yesterday and had running around to afterwards... By the time I got home it was dinner and bed!

Had a skinny latte (hea) and a caramel HiFi (heb) mid morning.

Lunch was roast pork with brocolli and carrots from the work canteen, followed by a banana.

Snacked on a small pot of fresh pineapple at around 4pm.

Dinner was bachelor's Mexican rice mixed with brocolli, babycorn, carrot, cauliflour, courgette and diced chicken. Made extra for lunch today.

Got into bed with 2 nectarines and a green tea.

Breakfast today was a cheese and ham toastie (hea &heb) followed by banana and an orange.

Lunch today was leftover chicken rice from last night.

Was flicking through instagram after work and came across someone having skewers... Made me really fancy them for dinner. So I had chicken skewers with green pepper, onion, mushrooms and tomatoes served with a tbsp of sweet chilli sauce (1.5 syns)

Just snacked on some pineapple and melon.

So happy with how the past couple of days have gone, only 2 syns used and feeling good to have some carbs back in my life. Now I'm off to bed with a book and a green tea.

Weigh in

So last night was weigh in day.

Breakfast was toast topped with mushrooms, ham and frylight eggs.

Ate some popcorn for lunch (I think I have an addiction!!!)

Weighed in and gained 0.5lb... Initially I want best pleased about it but looking back I am rather pleased. It was star week, yes I stayed under syns but I ate LOADS, and I had a false loss last week after a stomach bug... So what's half a pound ey?

I have also decided to rejig my target again. I originally set a target of 11st (which I changed because I didn't think it was enough) but I have some things happening soon which will involve a lot of stress, emotions and time... I do not need to be stressing about my weight aswell. And to be fair, after nearly two years of slimming I think I deserve a break! So I have put my target back to 11st, meaning I am now 5lbs from target. Hopefully it won't take me long to get there!

Yummy yummy

Breakfast yesterday was a fat free yogurt topped with Special K Granola (heb1) followed by a nectarine and an orange.

Lunch was a tin of Asda Lamb Bhuna (1.5 syns) with lots of added superfree (asparagus, courgette, onion, baby corn)

Snacked on 4 ryvita (heb2) topped with light Philadelphia (hea1) mid afternoon.

Dinner was Tesco BBQ pulled pork shoulder with mushrooms, sugarsnap peas, baby corn, courgette and tomatoes... It was delicious... AND SYN FREE!!! Definitely a must have on my shopping list from now on!

Snuggled up with hubby to watch a film in the evening and I had a milky chocolate coffee (hea2) and a bag of sugar free haribo (an absolute godsend at 6.5 syns!)

So finished my day on 8 syns and had some really delicious foods. Feeling bloated this week though (star week just finished) and I am keeping everything crossed for a loss on those scales tomorrow!

Discovering new treats

Breakfast yesterday was hot weetabix (heb1) and semi skimmed milk (hea1) with frozen raspberries mixed in.

Lunch was 4 Ryvita (heb2) topped with light Philadelphia (hea2) a nectarine, an orange and a fat free yogurt.

Dinner was date night with hubby. We went to the Harvester and I had a mixed grill minus the onion rings, sausage, black pudding, peas or carbs. Indeed of all these tempting extras I had flat mushrooms, lots of superfree salad, a fried egg (0.5 syns) and Budweiser BBQ sauce (2 syns)

Trip to the cinema after dinner so we took a trip to tesco to get some low syn treats. I opted for a pot of fruit, pomegranate seeds and 2 small bags of popcorn... The popcorn was to die for! They were tesco branded and the flavours in the multipack were Chocolate Orange, Salted Caramel and Strawberry Toffee... At 3.5-4 syns a bag they are amazing!!!

So finished my day on 10 syns and managed a meal out and a cinema trip. Good day all round I'd say :-)

Back in control!

So back at work today and I have to admit, it's been great! I'm back in control of my eating and I feel like I have some normality back in my life.

Breakfast this morning was oat pancakes (heb1) followed by a nectarine.

Lunch was leftover pork and spinach curry and an orange.

Off to the besties for dinner tonight and we had sweet chilli salmon and stir fried veg (1.5 syns for sweet chilli sauce) followed by some pineapple and a Jubby ice lolly (2.5 syns) Also had 2 milky coffees (hea1)

Got home and sat infront of the TV for a little while. Got a bit peckish so had 2 slices of toast (heb2) topped with light Philadelphia (hea2)

So managed to get through my day by only snacking once and having consumed only 4 syns. Feeling much better and hoping a busy weekend won't trip me up... But I know I can make good choices and that is what I intend to do!

Wednesday, 9 July 2014

I'll be glad to be back at work!

So being off work and having star week is proving to me making me a bottomless pit!

Breakfast this morning was overnight oats (heb1) topped with rasperries.

Lunch was a spinach, asparagus and tomato omelette topped with cheese (hea1) followed by a pack of Melba toast (3 syns) topped with light Philadelphia (hea2)

Snacked on some strawberries, blueberries and quark plus a brownie from my Graze box (5.5 syns) mid afternoon.

Dinner was a homemade syn free pork and spinach curry, with enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

Pud was a funny feet ice cream (3.5 syns)  and 2 alpen light bars (heb2)

So 12 syns used today, and 2 hea's and heb's (following original day) I am looking forward to going back to work tomorrow to stop me snacking! I'm staying under my syns, but I have to admit that I feel like i'm stuffing my face... That needs to stop!

Feeling better

My symptoms of my stomach bug have stopped and my appetite is back (thanks star week!!)

Breakfast yesterday was 2 slices of wholemeal toast (heb1) topped with ham, frylight eggs, mushrooms and 0.5 syn of ketchup.

Lunch was sweet chilli light Philadelphia (hea) on 4 ryvita (heb2) followed by an apple, peach, grapes and a fat free yogurt. After lunch I had a Funny Feet ice cream at 3.5 syns.

Dinner was a grilled chicken and lamb kebab with lots of salad and 1 syn of extra light mayo (no pitta bread - over the moon to find that my local kebab shop does a syn free marinade with no oil!!)

As I ate dinner quite early I had a bowl of quark mixed with strawberries and blueberries plus 5 syn of mikado mid evening.

Finished my day with a 1 syn hot chocolate in bed.

So a hungry day yesterday after star week making an appearance and getting my appetite back, but only used 11 syns and am confident I can carry this on for the rest of the week :-)

Family antics

So I was away in Devon for a long weekend. I had absolutely no signal (not even enough for a phonecall) hence no posting!

I took food with me and resisted the high syn foods my family were eating for their meals. I did eat some sweets, and the odd chip but other than than that I was a good slimmer :-) unfortunately on Sunday afternoon I came down with a stomach bug meaning the last night of our holiday was spend suffering in the caravan alone. My aim for this week's weigh in was a maintain but I was very pleased with a 2.5lb loss on the scales last night. I am sure a lot of that came down to 24 hours of a tummy upset but I'll take it!

Back home and settled now, unfortunately have to have a couple of days off work to prevent spreading my bug, but I am determined to stay on plan. Only 2.5lbs to go before I get rid of my holiday gain, hopefully I can make a dent in that this week!

Lesson learned...

Breakfast yesterday was overnight oats topped with strawberries.

Snacked on some grapes mid morning.

Lunch was a bug superfree salad topped with some chilli bean tuna (1.5 syns) followed by a peach.

The office was full of cakes and sweets all day and I did end up having a boiled sweet (1 syn) but was very pleased to have resisted the cakes!

Snacked on 3 oatcakes topped with sardines in tomato sauce mid afternoon. I was sure that oatcakes were 1 syn each but decided to double check... After eating them... Rookie mistake! 2 syns each!! Needless to say, not worth it and the rest of the box went straight in the bin!

Dinner was tomato chicken pasta topped with my head of reduced fat cheddar.

Snacked on a bag of Aldi cheese curls before bed (3 syns)

So a lesson learnt today... ALWAYS check syns before eating things! Finished my day on 11.5 syns so still within my allowances but could have been less if I'd have just done my research before scoffing. Won't be making that mistake again in a hurry!

Feeling a tad more normal

So day 2 of hubby being back at work went much better than day 1...

Breakfast was a cheese and tomato toastie.

Snacked on some grapes mid morning (I resisted Madeira Cake in the office!)

Lunch was cajan chicken stew with lots of added superfree (1.5 syns)

Finally got round to doing a food shop after work, snacked on some chicken breast slices on my way home.

Dinner was steak with mini corn on the cob, sugarsnap peas, mushrooms, tomato and some herby diced potatoes.

Got into bed with a book and an apple at around 9.30pm.

So only 1.5 syns consumed and I have to say I felt much better for it. I also increased my fluid levels having 9 drinks throughout the day :-)

Planning another low syn today today so hopefully that goes to plan...

Struggling to juggle everything...

So I am really struggling to juggle everything going on in my life at the moment. Work is busy, hubby has been off work and it has just been a really busy and emotional time! Blogging, instagraming and posting on my Facebook page seem to have fizzled out but I promise to get back on top of everything soon.

After drinking copious amounts of alcohol on Saturday night I was very pleased with a 1lb loss this week.

Food today has been on plan but I have used more syns than I usually would... A mixture of a busy day and hubby being back at work for the first time have had me reaching for comfort food.

Breakfast was an early one (started work at 6.20am!) and was a slice of wholemeal toast with scrambled egg, tinned tomatoes and mushrooms.

Snacked on a banana at around 8.30am.

As i was only working until 1pm today (due to appointments in Oxford this afternoon) I didn't have time for lunch so I snacked on a pot of carrot batons and cucumber with 2tbsp of houmous (5 syns)

After my appointment hubby treated me to steak, boiled potatoes and salad before our journey back to Swindon.

As dinner was early (around 4pm) I was hungry again by around 7pm so had a fruit salad and some popcorn (6.5 syns)

I am just about to get into bed and having had the other half of my heb or my hea so I am going to have a slice of wholemeal toast topped with light philly.

That concludes my really hungry day... And I am hoping going to bed early will stop me boredom eating! I need to have some low syn days now since I am away with family for 4 days from Friday... Wish me luck!!

Resisting temptation...

Breakfast yesterday was 2 frylight eggs with lean bacon, tomatoes and courgette.

Had a skinny vanilla latte mid morning (hea1 + 0.5 syn)

Lunch was roast beef with swede and green beans.

Went to the cinema early evening and rather than have lots of high syn foods I took a trip to the local asda for a ham and egg salad and a fruit platter. I also had a couple of alpen light bars (heb1) and 2 syns worth of olives.

Later in the evening I had an orange and some ryvita (heb2) with laughing cow light triangles (hea2)

So 2.5 syns all day, taking me to 3.5 for the week... Meaning I have lots of syns saved up for my night out with the girlies tonight :-)

Thursday, 26 June 2014

Feeling good...

So yesterday was another syn free day.

Breakfast was a big bowl of strawberries with yogurt and granola (heb)

Lunch was a big salad with egg and ham followed by an orange.

Snacked on a banana mid afternoon.

Dinner was the usual Thursday night meal at the besties, we had chicken with roasted vegetables, cauliflour and brocolli.

So absolutely over the moon with how my week is going so far... Currently 1 syn down meaning I still have 104 for the weekend!!

Wednesday, 25 June 2014

Another good day...

Breakfast today was 2 weetabix (heb1) with semi skimmed milk (hea1) no superfree as I was in a rush and didn't have anything prepared.

Lunch was salad with cheese chunks (hea2) a side of beetroot and a fat free yogurt.

Dinner was pork chops (fat removed) with boiled potatoes (heb2) and garlic&herb mushrooms and courgette (1 syn for seasoning)

Just snacked on some superfree strawberries dipped in coconut/pineapple yogurt.

So didn't quite manage my syn free day but did only have 1 so very pleased indeed :-)

Tuesday, 24 June 2014

Syn free :-)

Breakfast yesterday was 2 slices of toast (heb1) topped with light philly (hea1) and tomatoes.

Snacked on 2 alpen lights (heb2) around 12.

Work was really busy yesterday so didn't manage lunch until gone 3pm. It was a superfree salad, a fat free yogurt and a clementine.

Dinner was gammon steak with green beans, swede/carrot mash and spinach with garlic and cubed cheese (hea2)

So managed a red day with absolutely no syns :-) Start as you mean to go on...

Weigh day

So no post yesterday, having hubby at home in the evenings is really throwing my routine out of sync.

Had a pretty good day yesterday, syn free breakfast, lunch and dinner. Very proud of that considering we took a trip to the beach. Did have some syns on an ice cream but otherwise a good day.

Weigh day today, and I was pleased with a 1lb loss. It hasn't been the best of weeks, but I have proved to myself that no matter how hard times are and how emotional I may be, I don't have to ruin my week by 'emotionally eating'... because in fact, I will not feel better by eating crap... I will feel worse when I gaib weight!

Now going for a syn free week now right up to Saturday (having a night out with my girlies) and hopefully posting will get back to normal soon!

Sunday, 22 June 2014

Yummy foods

Breakfast yesterday was a cheese, bacon and tomato toastie with a pineapple/coconut 0% fat shape yogurt and an orange.

Lunch was pasta with a superfree sauce (tomatoes, courgette, garlic, herbs) and 4 syns of chopped hot dogs.

Went to a BBQ late afternoon. Managed to get through it with 2 small chicken skewers, a large toasted marshmallow (3 syns) and a lindt chocolate ball (3.5 syns)

Dinner was lamb steak with caulifour, brocolli and carrot.

So had some really tasty foods and got through my day on 10.5 syns.

Saturday, 21 June 2014

Having hubby home is a struggle...

Breakfast yesterday was overnight oats in a toffee mullerlight topped with banana.

Lunch was a big syn free egg salad followed by a grapefruit.

Snacked on 2 clementines mid afternoon.

So having hubby at home is a tad difficult.  Not only is he a really fussy eater (doesn't like hardly any of my meals) he is also really lazy when it comes to cooking. By the time I finished work and went shopping it was late... Therefore dinner was our 3rd meal out this week! It was at our local carvery so managed to stay low syn with lots of superfree veg and free meat (1 syn for gravy, 5 syns for roasties) but I can't see this eating out malarkey helping the scales. I am putting my foot down today and standing my ground on a takeaway/meal out ban! Lets see if I can manage that until the 1st of July when he goes back to work!

Thursday, 19 June 2014

Catching up...

Sorry for not posting over the past few days, I've been having a hard time and it hasn't been at the top of my 'to do' list I'm afraid... but I'm getting there and I'm back!

Tuesday started off really well but after skipping lunch and running around hubby wanted chinese buffet, I really wasn't in the mood for cooking so agreed therefore didn't stay on plan.

Yesterday was better and I managed to get through my day with just 3 syns.

Today was been a good one too...

Breakfast was 2 slices of toast (heb1) topped with light philly (hea1) and smoked salmon followed by a banana.

Lunch was a big salad with chicken followed by an apple and a banoffee pie mullerlight (1 syn)

Dinner was quorn steaks with cheesy veg (hea2)

Still have a second HeB to have if I fancy it later so feeling good. I refuse to let my emotions get the better of me and I will get a loss on those scales next week!

Tuesday, 17 June 2014

Weigh in

So yesterday was weigh in day...

Breakfast was 2 slices of toast topped with beans, eggs and a side of cherry tomatoes.

Spent the afternoon in a hospital with hubby for a small op and wasn't sure if I would make it to group. At the hospital we were given some bad news but nothing we won't be able to handle and get through together. After hubby's op he was told he needed to eat so I sat and watched him and my father-in-law plow through a burger king... whilst I sat and had nothing :-D

Got back to Swindon just in time for weigh in and am pleased to say I lost 3.5lbs. I would have liked more but in light of my two slip ups I am very happy with that! Now I am determined not to let my emotions get the better of me and stay on plan... need another loss next week :-)

Sunday, 15 June 2014

The day after...

So usually the day after a night drinking is usually filles with bad choices and lots of food. Not this time!

Breakfast was Kingsmill Great White toast (has the same amount of fibre as wholemeal!!!) topped with laughing cow cheese followed by an apple and a clementine.

Lunch was a big fruit salad.

Snacked on 2 alpen light bars mid afternoon.

Dinner was salad with chicken and cottage cheese.

Really fancied some biscuits before bed so tucked up with a cup of tea and some rich teas (14 syns)

Today is going to be a big test for me, there is going to potentially life-changing news given to me and I'm not sure how I'm going to react. Food could be a struggle depending on what mood I'm in, but only time will tell!

World cup celebrations...

Was so gutted about breakfast yesterday... I prepared overnight oats friday night, went to get them out of the fridge yesterday morning and the jar slipped right out of my hand; smashing on the floor wasting my delicious brekkie and ruining my favourite jar :-( So some last minute compromise was bacon, eggs, mushrooms, courgette, tomatoes and toast.

Lunch was lots of fruit with 2 alpen light bars and a mullerlight yogurt (1 syn)

Snacked on some grapes and seafood sticks mid morning.

Dinner was 2 quorn peppered steaks with a mountain of cheesy veg.

Headed off to see my dad in the evening and we ended up watching the football whilst drinking copious amounts of alcohol... I stuck to vodka with diet coke so minimum syns, definitely went over my syns for the day but I enjoyed myself and managed to relax properly for the first time in days so I'm fine with it.

Think I'll only get a small loss on the scales this week as I've had a couple of slip ups, but it's a really emotional time at the moment so I don't mind. I know I can beat this, I will get this weight shifted eventually. I also know I will never be obese again!
